Bangkok is the capital City of Thailand. It is also known as "Krungthep" [กรุงเทพ] meaning “the City of Angels”. It is ranked as the best city in the world in 2008 by "Travel and Leisure Magazine".

Bangkok is famous for its temples, the Grand Palace as well as some of Asia's largest shopping centers and Asia's largest outdoor week-end market (Chatuchak). All areas in central Bangkok can be easily reached by Skytrain (BTS) or Underground Train (MRT).

Phuket is an island off the south-west coast of Thailand. It is the Thailand's largest island. It is commonly referred to as the “Pearl of the South”. It is located 867 kilometers south of Bangkok.

Phuket is blessed with magnificent coves and bays, powdery, palm-fringed white beaches, smaller surrounding islands, hospitable people and seafood, delightful turn-of-the-century Sino-Portuguese architecture; numerous sporting and leisure opportunities; a lush tropical landscape - all of which combine to create a delightful ambience for truly memorable holidays.

The most famous beaches are Patong, Kata, Karon, Kamala and Nai Harn Beach. Phuket and its islands are ideal for sailing, diving & snorkeling, golfing and all kinds of sports and entertainment you can wish for. You can also take a trip with a submarine to discover the colorful marine lives under the sea. There is plenty of accommodation available ranging from standard bungalows to 5 star hotels.

How to get there:

By Car

From Bangkok take the route no. 4 to the south. Along the way, you pass the provinces of Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, Prachuap-Khirikan, and at Chumphon go right to Ranong. From Ranong, go south through Kraburi and Kapoe Districts to Phang-nga Province. In Phang-nga you will passes through Kuraburi, Takuapa, and Thai Muang Districts before reaching the town of Kok Kloy. Then, cross the Thao Thep Kasattri or Sarasin Bridge to Phuket Island.

By Bus

If you come to Phuket by land trip, the bus is the only means of travel, since there is no existing railway connection to the island. From Bangkok, it takes 14 hours or more for the nearly 900 kilometers. The buses depart from the Southern Bus Terminal. The fare is around THB 700 to 800. There is also regular mini-bus trips from Singapore and Penang which are very reasonable priced. Both air-conditioned and non air–conditioned buses leave the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok daily.

By Plane

Flying to Phuket is  the easiest way to get to the island. Most domestic airlines operate several flights daily between Phuket and Bangkok, Samui, and Chiang Mai. Some domestic airlines operate flights from Phuket to Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, and Hat Yai. There are also numerous international airlines that fly directly to Phuket from various cities around Asia, including Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Penang, Singapore, and Sydney.

How to get there:

A ferry service to Koh Sichang leaves the port at Siracha every  hour,. It takes only about 45 minutes. The last ferry out to the island leaves at 8pm, but note that the last trip back to the mainland departs at 6pm.  The ferry boats services are operated by two companies Saeng Prathip and Sichang Palace. The buses leaves from Eastern Bus Terminal near Bangkok airport and heading towards Pattaya will stop at Siracha. Alternatively, a taxi from Bangkok will be faster and still reasonably priced for tourists.

The Grand Palace is the major tourist attraction in Bangkok. It is located at Rattanakosin, the Old Royal City, on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River. It is bordered by Sanam Luang district on the north, Sanam Chai on the east, Maharaj on the west and Thy Wang on the south. It has an area of 218,400 sq. metres. It was created in 1782; a complex building comprises the Royal residence, the Royal Monastery of the Emerald Buddha, its surrounding Galleries depicting the paintings of the scenes from the Ramakien (the Thai version of the Indian epic of the Ramayana), the Outer Court, the Inner Court and the Central Court.

How to get there?

Getting to the Grand Palace is quite easy by boat. Take the Chaophraya Express Boat to the Chang Pier (Tha Chang). Walk through the market around the pier and out onto the plaza flanked by old shophouses. The long white wall of the Grand Palace is across the street on your right.

It is located 80 kilometers from Bangkok. It has an area of 4,363 square kilometers. Chonburi has been a popular seaside town of eastern coast for a long period of time. Its primary source of income is agricultural such as sugar cane, cassava, and para rubber trees. Eastern Seaboard Development Project and industrial factories contributed the economy of this province.

It composed of many small towns such as Mueang Bang Sai, Mueang Bang Plae Soi, and Mueang Bang Phra but later King Rama V combined this town into Chon Buri province.

By Car

 There are many routes from Bangkok to Chon Buri:

1. Take the highway No. 34 Bangna Trat to Chonburi

2. Take the highway No. 304 Bangkok-Minburi passing Chachoengsao province Bang Pakong to Chon Buri.

3. Take the old route of Sukhumvit Road, Highway No. 3 passing Samutprakan Province to the intersection of Bang Pakong District then enter the highway No. 34 to Chon Buri.

4.  Take the motorway, Bangkok- Chon Buri- Pattaya

By Bus                                                        

 From Eastern Bus Terminal in Ekkamai, there are many air-conditioned buses going to Chon Buri starting from 5:30am until 9pm. It has an interval of 40 minutes.

It also has second class air-conditioned and non-air conditioned buses starting from 5:30am until 9pm with an interval of 30 minutes.

There are also air-conditioned buses in Bangkok Bus Terminal in Mochit 2, leaving Bangkok from 6:30am to 6:30pm. Private Buses departing from Southern Bus Terminal leaves Bangkok from 5:30am to 6:30pm every 2 hours interval.

By Train

From Hua Lamphong Railway Station, there is 1 daily train running to Phlu Ta Luang Railway Station in Chon Buri.

It is located in 71 Rama V Road Chitrlada sub-district Dusit district Bangkok 10300, Thailand.

 It opens to the public in 1938. Dusit Zoo is the oldest zoo in Bangkok. It was built by King Chulalongkorn. Dusit zoo is one of the most popular zoos in Thailand.

The park area is nearly 30 hectares of size and has 1600 types of animals all over the world. In the middle of the zoo there is a pond, where you can ride a boat row a paddleboat.

If walking on a hot day makes you exhausted, you can hop in a “train” that runs around the place. At the sides of the park there are several stages, where you can see an ape or a parrot show, for instance.There are some restaurants selling foods inside the zoo.Aside from watching animals, there is also amusement available for children to enjoy.

Dusit Zoo is open daily from 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. The entrance fee is only 100 baht for adults and 50 baht for children.
